Description

This is a "finish-it-yourself" kit for the Sound Study Modular Rings module, with pre-soldered surface mount parts and installed firmware. It includes the panel, Rogan knobs, and all other necessary components for assembly. Rings is a versatile resonator module at the core of physical modeling synthesis, transforming external audio signals into pitched sounds. It simulates three families of vibrating structures: strings, membranes, and tubes (modal synthesis); coupled sympathetic strings; and strings with variable inharmonicity. A pseudo-polyphonic mode allows up to 4 notes to ring simultaneously, adding density and chordal character to sounds. This module is ideal for those seeking the functionality of Elements without the larger footprint.
