The Civil War series of books chronicles in great detail the American Civil War. Published by Time Life the series was published between 1983 to 1987. Each book focused on a different topic, such as the blockade, and spies, but mainly concentrated on the battles and campaigns. The 28 volumes are heavily illustrated with pictorial essays on specific topics within each volume.
